The owners of a former downtown Windsor cannabis lounge have said they have not applied for a physical pot store licence.
In a media release sent out Friday, Higher Limits co-owner Jon Liedtke sought to clear up confusion with a similar-sounding company that has filed applications to open pot stores in Essex County and Chatham-Kent.
“It has been brought to the attention of the owners of Higher Limits, repeatedly over the past number of weeks, by prior patrons, members of the community, and multiple media outlets alike, that Higher Limits Cannabis Company submitted to the AGCO applications for three cannabis retail stores in Amherstburg, Blenheim and Chatham,” wrote Liedtke.
Liedtke pointed out that the Windsor-based Higher Limits is not affiliated in any way with Higher Limits Cannabis Company.
BlackburnNewsWindsor.com did confirm with the AGCO that Higher Limits Cannabis Company has an application undergoing public notice for a cannabis store in Blenheim, and another in Amherstburg.
